My friend once asked me this question: "Do you really need to be in love to be happy?"
For a while, it kept me thinking also. I do not really know how to answer this for I myself is a person lacking in experience in terms of love. But then again, I thought to myself, I do not need to be in love to be able to answer this question for I have my own share of loving experiences from my family, friends and the people around me.
And so I told my friend and myself as well the following thoughts…
Do not try to hook up to be in love just for the sake of it as it might harbor competition between you and possibly your next partner.
You see, I have been talking about my friend principally. I do not know what is his kind-of-partner. You need to reassess what you would like to see from your future partner. Do you want to be with a quality person such as yourself? Take time to think about it. In the end, it all boils down to choosing the right person. Remember that 99 percent of your happiness will come from finding the perfect partner.
In the meantime, you only need to love yourself to be happy. To love another should only make you happier. If you rely on loving someone else for your happiness, then you will never be happy. You are gaga with the idea of being in love with another person, not love itself.
Love yourself and you have happiness. Should you find the one, cherish the times and make it work. You worked hard for that relationship. Be modest in your success as well.
